About the Community Midwifery Program

The Community Midwifery Program (CMP) is a publicly funded homebirth program delivered by WA Health. The CMP is available for women experiencing a low risk pregnancies who live within 50km north, 50 km south and 40 km east of the Perth CBD, and have a Medicare card. The CMP offers continuity of care for women from 16 weeks of pregnancy, throughlabour and birth and up to 2-4 weeks post birth. Antenatal care is provided by CMP midwives in the home as well as at Community Clinics located in Joondalup, Cockburn and Kalamunda and King Edward Memorial Hospital.
